Discipline and Mental Health

Discipline is potentially one of the most important skills to learn on your path to greatness. When you get to the point of obsession, you have to ask yourself-

“Where do I draw the line?”


This can be important for your own mental health. Understanding your priorities and limits and how to maximize yourself every single day.


Too much discipline and you run the risk of burnout. There have been many people who are great at one thing but they fail to balance their life out to the point where the hinges come off when they are on the biggest stage. This can be a slippery slope. Burnout, drugs, and other mental (and physical) health issues commonly arise in people who get incredibly hyper focused on one thing. In many cases, it is common to get to the point where people lose their identity.


This is why it is important to have multiple things in your life that bring you fulfillment. Hobbies, friends/family, and other forms of self entertainment or exploration can be important in becoming the best you can be. 


The best make others around them better. As well as themselves. In order to make others become the best version of themselves, you yourself have to be on the same journey. 


Think about the person you admire most in your industry. What do they do? How is their mental? It can be humbling to find out that some of the most financially successful people can be unhappy because they have pushed themselves to a point that is hard to return from. No amount of fortune or fame should ever come in between what matters most to you.


Well...What matters most? That's for you to decide...
